In some of the craziness, it can still be somewhat difficult to differentiate pilot versus AI, but once the enemy starts attacking you, it will be much clearer. Worked into our general deathmatch game, it offered a very similar attrition-like opportunity from the original game, but with seemingly far better rewards when hunting down other pilots. Titanfall 2 was able to show off some of its newer features, such as the bounty system. Ultimately, it will end up giving you some much more even-combat opportunities when taking on titans as a pilot (though, we can attest, you still probably shouldn’t take a titan head-on, one-on-one style…).īut it’s not all about the grappling hook. It will make that action easier without making it feel cheap. It fit into combat and traversals in such a natural way, especially when coming down onto another titan after ejecting from our own. This only really causes one concern right now: where the hell was this in the first Titanfall?Īlmost immediately, the grappling hook was a welcome addition to the mix. Somehow missing from the first game, Titanfall 2 will add a very Catwoman-like grapple system to your pilot’s arsenal to give you greater boosts to traversing levels and attacking titans. For the short glimpse at the game, it’s more of the same but perhaps with a key gameplay element to help amp things up. EA says it will release Titanfall 2 sometime this fall. You miss giant robots fighting each other amongst parkour dudes, bro? Respawn Entertainment hears you! We've reached out to EA for comment on this week's Titanfall 2 rumors and will update with any new information we receive.ĮA and Respawn officially announced Titanfall 2 in April.

While Mountain Dew's line of game-associated beverages typically launch annually in October, the games they're promoting sometimes release the following month. A Facebook fan page for Game Fuel indicates that Titanfall 2's promotional soda will come in two flavors: Mango Heat and Cherry Citrus. 31, 2016, the company has said.Īnother apparent leak for Titanfall 2 says that Respawn's sequel will be the featured game in this year's release of Mountain Dew's Game Fuel line of soft drinks. Both Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 will be during EA's fiscal third quarter, which runs Oct. Publisher Electronic Arts already has another shooter on the books for that month: Battlefield 1. The poster on Reddit also claims that Titanfall 2 will be out this October. What it does feature are some familiar elements: Titans, pilots and infantry doing battle in a futuristic sci-fi setting. The piece of artwork posted by that Reddit user ("ilovegoogleglass") doesn't appear to feature a grappling hook (nor the sword teased in Titanfall 2's first trailer), though it does match a teaser image posted to the game's official website.

That grappling hook, the Reddit user said, is used for "getting into your Titan, aiding free-running, or tactical plays such as pulling enemies while they're midair." Titanfall 2 will also apparently feature larger multiplayer maps. A user claiming to have knowledge of Respawn Entertainment's next game posted that gameplay detail alongside a piece of legitimate-looking artwork to back up their claim. Titanfall 2 will give players a new way to traverse the game's environments and engage others in combat, thanks to the addition of a grappling hook, according to a post on the Titanfall subreddit.
